About Us

Mission

Our mission is to provide persons with developmental disabilities a comprehensive network of professional and person-centered services designed to help them reach outcomes that lead to a higher level of independence. Of high priority, our mission ensures that all individuals are afforded opportunities to engage in community-based programs and activities that will enable them to learn new skills, learn about and how to access community resources, use natural supports and to participate in community activities in the same general areas as persons without disabilities.

Vision

  • We envision a program in which our individuals are eager to go into the
community to learn, establish friendships and other relationships and to be of
service, if they wish and if possible, alongside non-disabled persons within the
    community.
  • We envision programs and activities in which our individuals are able to make
choices and develop skills in self-determination and advocacy as they grow in
    independence.
  • We envision results that indicate that our individuals are respected and
    accepted members of society.
  • We envision our individuals being able to verbalize / demonstrate their
awareness of their acceptance and respect.
  • We envision a community that is more accepting of our individuals as the
community members observe and interact more frequently with our
individuals in community places that seemingly have been reserved for or only
    utilized by persons without disabilities.
  • We envision a society that treat our individuals with dignity and respect and
see our individuals as worthwhile and viable members of our communities.

We Believe That…

  • All individuals with developmental disabilities are persons worthy of
being afforded every opportunity to live full and happy lives at
home and especially in the community.
  • Programs should be meaningful and lead to achievement and/or
progress in stated outcomes, especially those that lead to
    community involvement, self-determination and advocacy.
  • Program settings should be stress free in order to promote learning
and enhance the quality of life for all individuals; by providing a
stress-free environment, our individuals will be more open to
exploring and becoming full citizens of their community.
  • That activities learned in group day settings will enhance
community learning and recreational experiences (that is,
individuals will be able to practice skills learned in group day
training programs such as communication, socialization, health and
    safety, behavior, etc.).
